Email support

We usually reply within 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday, Amsterdam time). It helps if you mention your device model, OS version and — if you saved your account — the sign-in method you used. Please do not email passwords or full payment details.

Future Self is a motivation app, not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number (112 in the EU, 911 in the U.S.), 113 Zelfmoordpreventie in the Netherlands (113 or 0800-0113) or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my purchases?

If your membership is not showing — after a new phone, a reinstall or switching devices — make sure the device is signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you originally purchased with, then tap Restore on the paywall or open Profile → Account & subscription → Restore purchases. The store re-attaches your purchase within a few seconds.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed and managed by the app store, not by us. In the app, Profile → Manage subscription takes you to the right place, or go directly:

Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are decided and paid by Apple and Google under their store policies — we cannot issue them ourselves. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, use your Google Play order history or Google Play's refund page. EU consumers keep their statutory rights (see the Terms of Service). If you get stuck, email us and we will point you in the right direction.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile → Account & subscription → Delete account. If you are on the paywall, tap Privacy choices → Delete my account & data. This permanently deletes your account, onboarding answers and free text, saved quotes, streaks, notification preferences and device records from our systems — it cannot be undone. Purchase records remain with Apple, Google and RevenueCat for billing purposes; the Privacy Policy has the details.

How do I access, export or correct my data?

Deletion is in the app (above). For a copy of your data, an export, a correction you cannot make in the app, or to object to analytics, email hello@joinfutureself.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We reply within one month. Your rights are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Can I change or pause my reminders?

Yes — open Profile → Notifications to change how many quotes and affirmations you get per day, your delivery window and quiet hours, and to switch the streak and trial reminders on or off. You can also turn notifications off in your device's system settings at any time. If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for Future Self in system settings and open the app once so it can refresh its registration.

I got a new phone — will my data come along?

Only if you saved your account. Future Self starts you off with an anonymous account; save it via Profile → Account & subscription → Save my account (Apple or Google) so your goal, streak and saved quotes follow you to a new device. If you never saved it, we have no way to recover the old data — but your membership can always be restored through the store account you bought it with.
